The conference on Technological and Stylistic Innovation and Urban Renewal - Ceramics: Form, Colour and Sustainability” (“Ricerca tecnologica, estetica e rinnovo urbano - La ceramica tra forma, colore e sostenibilità”)  forms part of the “Ceramics in Architecture” season of events, organised by the Casa dell’Architettura, of which Marazzi is an official sponsor, which will include a succession of exhibitions, conferences and workshops for students and professionals during the next 4 months.

The aim of the season is to encourage and support creative cooperation between ceramics, design and architecture, to foster synergies and dialogues between architects, designers, artists, professionals and the ceramics industry.

Flavio Mangione, member of the Casa dell’Architettura Scientific Committee and season curator, after the greetings, opens the conference introducing the main topics before handing over to Andrea Cuoghi, Sales Manager of Marazzi Italia, who looks back over the main milestones on the company's history with the aid of carefully selected photographic material. He is followed by Nicola Leonardi, editor in chief of architecture journal The Plan and conference moderator, who provides a brief overview of the main architecture projects ongoing in the world today. The next speaker is the architect Gianluca Rossi on the latest trends in architectural design and the expressive potential of ceramics today, followed by Gianpaolo Neviani, operational manager of the Marazzi division, on the topic of the new systems for building shell design and the energy efficiency of buildings. After Neviani, architect Alessandro Pistolesi of Studio Transit discusses urban renewal, approaching the subject through his own experience in town planning and architecture. Afterwards Nicola Leonardi interviews Nino Caruso, guest of honour at the conference and subject of the “Art, Architecture, Urban Space” (“Arte, Architettura e Spazio Urbano”) exhibition at the Casa dell’Architettura until 27 June.
